More than 35,500 organizations worldwide are certified to the FSSC 22000 Scheme for Food Safety Management Systems, including premium A brands. The FSSC 24000 Social Sustainability scheme was published about a year ago. Both schemes contribute to FSSC's vision to create a better world by helping organizations contribute to the SDG’s. FSSC employs about 50+ professionals, half of them work from the Netherlands, the rest from other locations in the world.
Because of the growth of the FSSC organization, we are recruiting for the vacancy of Technical Officer (Safety and Quality).

Vacancy Technical Officer (Safety and Quality)

The Technical Officer is responsible for providing technical support on the day-to-day operations as well as for the development, maintenance and support of all relevant technical aspects of the Scheme.

Key result areas

  • Provide support to the Technical Manager with Scheme development and maintenance activities according to the procedural requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the technical knowledge base within the support system and respond to support requests within the defined timeline.
  • Responsible for effective communication with the partners (certified Bodies and Accreditation Bodies) and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in, and support internal and external projects.
  • Contribute to technical research in support of developments, new projects and continuous.improvements.

The ideal Technical Officer

  • Tertiary education in a food or bio-science-related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience at a Certified Body as a Food / Feed Schemes Program Manager / Coordinator, Food Safety or Quality Supervisor / Inspector or Food Safety Auditor.
  • Detailed knowledge of food safety management systems and implementation thereof, including FSSC 22000.
  • Experience with technical reviews and certification decision making would be to your advantage.
  • Good knowledge of accreditation and certification.
  • Ability to analyse information and propose solutions as part of continual improvement.
  • Intercultural awareness.
  • Independent worker and team player.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English at a high proficiency level.
